Dubai: The UAE’s Minister of State for Financial Affairs Obaid Humaid Al Tayer has “encouraged” the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to help create jobs in the Arab world, according to a Ministry of Finance statement.

Al Tayer met with the Fund’s Managing Director Christine Lagarde in Washington DC at the Spring Meeting of the IMF and World Bank Group held from April 15 to April 17, the statement said.

In the meeting, “conversations aimed to encourage the IMF to provide aid to Arab countries to support growth efforts and job creation.”
