Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi recorded the lowest inflation rate in the UAE in the first 11 months of 2009, as a sharp fall in the prices of foodstuffs and other goods and services pushed the rate to one of its lowest levels, official data showed yesterday.

Inflation in Abu Dhabi, the main oil and gas producing emirate in the country, stood at 0.85 per cent during the past 11 months of 2009, according to the Statistics Centre-Abu Dhabi.

The report showed that the general consumer price index increased from 114.69 points in 11 months in 2008 to 115.67 points in 2009.

It also showed a record fall of 0.41 last month against the record decline in the same month last year.
