Dubai: Apples get costlier after staying in check for weeks, tomatoes too get a bit pricey!

Some fluctuations seen in the prices of groceries, which largely stayed steady earlier

After staying steady for weeks, the cost of apples have risen, and so have the price of tomatoes. So opt out of adding any of the above red grocery items to your day's dishes like a salad.

While, among fruits, the price of apples rose by 80fils to Dh4.8, from Dh4 yesterday, the cost of a kilo of lemons slipped by 20fils to Dh4.8. The cost of most other groceries stayed in check, but a kilo of lime now costs as much as Dh32.9, a hike from yesterday's Dh23 - which is a difference of Dh9.9.

The cost of most vegetables have remained steady, but the cost of a kilo of cucumbers dropped by Dh1 to Dh4. The price of tomatoes rose by 20fils to Dh3.9 from Dh3.7 earlier, and lettuce now costs as much as Dh24.6, slipping Dh1 a kilo from Dh25.6 on Monday.

For those of you who are craving some seafood the coming days, you would be glad to know that the cost of most fish and shrimp is stable, however, the cost of Hamour fish rose by Dh3 to Dh66 from Dh63.
