Abu Dhabi: The UAE has strongly condemned a terrorist attack that targeted a military convoy in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killing and injuring dozens, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In its statement, the ministry expressed the UAE’s unequivocal condemnation of what it described as a “heinous and cowardly” assault, reaffirming the country’s firm rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining regional security and stability.

The ministry also extended its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Pakistan, and wished a swift and full recovery to those injured in the attack.

At least 13 security personnel were killed and 16 others injured while 14 militants were also killed in two separate attacks in North Waziristan district on Saturday, Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported.
