Comments from the Arab world.
Al Khaleej (UAE), comment by Dr. Abdullah Omran:
Those who sang for Lebanon and clapped for the Arz revolution in Western Europe and the United States left the country standing alone in the face of the monster- just like many of this country's friends left it for more than 19 days in order to punish it for not obeying those powerful ones. What can the powerless Arab voice, which is coming out now following the second Qana massacre of children, do? What good is it after all this silence? And will the Arabs wait for a third Qana? A fourth one? Or even a tenth one before they start moving?
Addustour (Jordan), editorial:
The description "massacre" is not enough to explain what happened in Qana at the hands of the Israelis. In fact, it sounds naïve if we use it to point to the large number of those killed in the same instance, even if it includes mainly children. This is because the innocence of these children gives the concept of killing a new meaning, which makes the scene all the more miserable and hurtful... this is not a massacre like the ones history has witnessed in the past. It is a statement written with blood; its aim is evil and sick and it belongs to an inferior satanic world.
Al Diyar (Lebanon), comment by Elen Issa:
Did Lebanon need a new 'blood wedding' in Qana for the world to realize the extent of Israeli massacres committed against the Lebanese people since 12th July, which have pushed one third of the population into becoming refugees either in their homeland or internationally. Is this what it takes for Condoleezza Rice to accept an immediate ceasefire?
