Makkah: Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz on Saturday issued a number of royal orders.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), King Salman issued a royal order changing the name of the “Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution” to “Public Prosecution” and its chairman should be called the “Public Prosecutor”.
“It will directly report to the king and no one shall interfere in its work."
The Bureau of Experts of the Cabinet in conjunction with relevant authorities should review the regulations of the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution, the code of criminal procedures, other regulations and relevant royal orders, propose amendments in accordance with this order and submit the outcome within a period not exceeding 90 days, in order to complete the necessary legal procedures, SPA added.
King Salman also relieved Shaikh Mohammad Bin Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al Areeni, President of the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution, of his post, and appointed Shaikh Saud Bin Abdullah Bin Mubarak Al Mujeb as Public Prosecutor with a ministerial rank.
He also ordered the termination of service of Lieutenant General Othman Bin Nasser Al Mahraj, Director of Public Security, and promoting Major General Saud Bin Abdul Aziz Hilal to the rank of lieutenant general and appointing him as Director of Public Security
King Salman appointed Abdul Hakim Bin Mohammad Bin Sulaiman Al Tamimi as President of General Authority of Civil Aviation, and Suhail Bin Mohammad Bin Abdul Aziz Abanmi as the Governor of General Authority of Zakat and Tax.
