Abu Dhabi: The Riyadh Personal Status Court has issued a ruling in an urgent case that a father hand over his infant child to his mother immediately, local media reported.

The ruling was issued within one day from the date of filing the case. The child's mother filed a lawsuit with the Personal Status Court demanding that her infant be handed over to her after the father forcibly took him during a visit to his mother's home.

The court confirmed the mother is more entitled to custody of her baby son and that the infant is in dire need of his mother.

The court ruling ensured that custody of the child remains with the mother and banned taking it from her, and the mother has the right to approach all authorities to end the procedures related to the child in custody.
