Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz has ordered the temporary suspension of the execution of final rulings and judicial orders related to imprisonment of debtors involved in private rights-related cases.
The king also ordered the immediate release of those jailed in accordance of these rulings and judgments. The royal orders come in line with the kingdom’s efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus.
King Salman also ordered the suspension of final rulings and judicial orders related to enabling children to see one of their separated parents until the committee announces the end to the exceptional conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In response to the royal orders, Justice Minister Waleed Al Samaani thanked King Salman for his gesture that comes within the framework of the kingdom’s efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure the safety of everyone, putting human health as a priority.
He confirmed that the detention orders have immediately been submitted online and law-enforcement authorities have been notified.
“The visitation rulings for children have been suspended electronically and parties have been notified by sending them SMS messages,” he added.
