Woman sought help after fatal stabbing

London: Special constable Nisha Patel-Nasri was found staggering around in her nightclothes with a fatal wound to her groin, screaming "help, he's following me", a court heard on Thursday.

The 29-year-old bled to death on the doorstep of her Wembley home in May 2006 after an artery had been severed.

Her unfaithful husband Fadi Nasri, 33, had hired a gang of men to kill her, shortly after his wife had taken out a £350,000 (Dh2.6 million) life insurance policy, prosecutor Michael Worsley told the Old Bailey jury.

She was heard by neighbours screaming loudly from the street: "help, help, he's following me, he's following me", the jury was told.

Her footprints were found in pools of blood.

"Neighbours saw Nisha in her pyjamas and bare feet. She was holding a torch in her right hand and clutching her stomach with her left," the prosecution said.

Staggered

"She was saying that she had been stabbed and staggered to her driveway before collapsing six or seven feet from her front door.

"She was bleeding profusely from a wound to her groin where an artery had been severed.

"There was a blood trail. There were pools of blood and footprints in blood from her bare feet."

She had been stabbed with a knife from her own kitchen.

The jury were told that a well-built black man wearing a hooded top was seen by witnesses fleeing the scene.

"The Crown say that the man who wielded the knife is the defendant Jason Jones," the prosecution said. Patel-Nasri's husband, the owner of a limousine business, had been living a double life with a Lithuanian prostitute, the court heard.
