Manila: President Gloria Arroyo's daughter Evangelina Lourdes "Luli", 37, married her long-time boyfriend, Jay Aloysius Luigi Bernas, an investment banker, in a simple ceremony in southern suburban Tagaytay, a television report said.
Her husband raised his arms when he escorted his bride out of St Scholastica Centre for Spirituality on Wednesday evening, the report said.
The bride, dressed in a simple and elegant gown, entered the church with her father at the start of the wedding procession.
President Arroyo and her husband gave her away at the altar.
Heavy guard
Some 26 guests that included only close family members were in ten cars. They were heavily guarded when they drove to the Tagaytay Highlands for the reception that lasted until late evening.
Her two brothers, Congressmen Mikey and Datu, were not at the reception because they were reportedly abroad. Another report said they were attending official functions.
The presidential palace did not make any announcement , but reporters have been anticipating the wedding day.
