Dad beats 7-year-old son to death over homework

Manila: Philippine police say a man has confessed that he beat his 7-year-old son to death in anger because the boy was struggling with his English-language homework.

Police official Benny Sabio says Ronald Dayap surrendered after his son died Wednesday in Tanza township, south of Manila.

Sabio said Friday that Dayap's wife told police her husband allegedly became angry when their son could not answer English questions while Dayap was helping him with his homework.
