Islamabad: The woman who had a nail hammered into her head allegedly by a faith healer a few days ago in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) capital Peshawar turned out to be the second wife of an Afghan national and according to her husband, she was mentally unstable.

This was revealed by Ahmed Sabir, her Afghan husband during a media briefing arranged by Peshawar police at the Police Lines.

Earlier, it was alleged that a fake faith healer pushed a nail into her head to help her bear a male offspring.

However, her husband Ahmed Sabir, dismissed the news and told the reporters the nail had nothing to do with a faith healer and claimed she was mentally unstable.

“You people would not believe this, but she is possessed by spirits and this is nothing but work of black magic,” he added.

If you don’t believe me, ask my child, he will tell you the truth, said Sabir pointing out to his 7-year old kid who was sitting beside.

He said he had 11 children including six sons from two wives and there was no question that the nail was pushed into her head under the desire for a male child as she was was mother of two sons and a daughter.

He said that the woman was his second wife. He married her in 2012.

While addressing the media, Peshawar city’s police chief SSP Haroon Rashid said the police had traced her family during the investigation.

About the nail in the woman’s head, the police officer said that it might have been result of some accident.

However, he said that police were planning a psychiatric evaluation of the woman.

The SSP said that the woman told investigators that she has lost consciousness while removing a wall mounted heater and found the nail in her head upon regaining consciousness.
