Dubai: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran arrived in Kingdom of Bahrain on Monday to participate in the national day celebrations as a guest of honour.
Upon arrival on his maiden visit since assuming power in August 2018, Prime Minister Imran was given red carpet welcome. He was received by Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa. Later, he held meeting with Crown Prince of Bahrain. During the meeting, matters pertaining to bilateral relations and regional situation came under discussion, tweeted Information Ministry of Pakistan.
During the visit, he will have one-on-one meeting with King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
“The Prime Minister’s visit to Bahrain will enable the two sides to explore ways and means to further deepen bilateral trade and investments ties. The visit is of special significance and will impart a strong impetus to both sides’ endeavours to forge a closer, multifaceted bilateral relationship”, the news release said.
Over 100,000 Pakistani expatriate community which contributes to the socio-economic development of Bahrain, acts as a strong human bridge between the two countries.
Sayed Zulfiqar Bukhari, Special Assistance to Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, who is also accompanying the Prime Minister tweeted that he got huge number of messages from Pakistanis living in Bahrain asking him to organise a meeting with the community. However, through his tweet, he apologised the community for being unable to arrange their meeting with the Prime Minister during this visit.
"Humbled by all messages pouring in from our Bahrain based diaspora to organise a gathering for our PM. Sincere apologies for not being able to accommodate this time due to his schedule.On behalf of you all I‘ll request him to plan a special trip soon just to meet his special ppl," he tweeted.
