Peshawar: Police say they have killed two suspected suicide bombers after a shootout in northwestern Pakistan.
Senior police official Liaquat Ali said the men were killed on the outskirts of Peshawar on Tuesday.
He said one of the militants was wearing a suicide jacket.
Ali said police raided the militant hideout on a tip that some suicide bombers were hiding in the area of Mittani.
The incident came a day after militants detonated car bomb against a US consulate in Peshawar, killing eight people and wounding 33 others.
Also Monday, a suicide bomber killed 45 people at a rally by a secular political party in the Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa province of which Peshawar is the capital.
