Congress, Singh responsible for rise, BJP says
New Delhi: Top leaders of the principal opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hit the Parliament Street to protest against rise in prices of essential commodities.
The party has already advised officegoers to reach their destinations by nine in the morning to avoid any inconvenience, giving subtle hints that roads could get blocked and normal life thrown out of gear.
The Delhi unit of the party is making all-out efforts to make the protest a huge success in their bid to impress party chief Nitin Gadkari. This will be Gadkari's first public appearance in the capital after taking charge of the party in December.
According to BJP general secretary Vijay Goel, besides BJP cadres, representatives of several social organisations and resident welfare associations would also join the protest, saying the ruling Congress party government and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are responsible for the price rise.
