Kerala girl undergoes sex change surgery to marry lover; feels cheated as lover dumps ‘him’

Thiruvananthapuram: A young woman in north Kerala who underwent a sex-change surgery in order to marry another woman has alleged that the would-be spouse cheated because of the operation.

Archana Raj told media that he had a sex-change surgery and took on the name Dipu to please his partner and in the hopes that they would get married.

Archana had been working in a private company where she met the woman and they discussed marriage. As part of their deal for a life together, Archana underwent the sex change surgery at a Chennai hospital and took on a male identity.

However, after she changed her name to Dipu, the girlfriend apparently had a change of heart. Dipu now alleges that his partner has left him stranded.

He contends that it was she who prompted the operation and sex change and it was she who broke their promise afterwards.

Dipu has social media chat records and telephone conversation records that back his claims. However, the woman has given statements against Dipu to the police and in court.

Dipu has decided to live his life as a man. He said, however,  he was narrating his story to the world so that others were not deceived like him.

Dipu is currently trying to live down the bitterness caused by his girlfriend who did not keep her word, but is fervently hoping that she will have another change of mind and come back to him.
