A musician from Mumbai, India was killed and his body was cut into pieces by adopted daughter and her boyfriend.

According to a report by India Today, Mumbai Police on Tuesday recovered a suitcase from Mithi river that had a severed hand among other body parts of 59-year-old Bennett Rebello.

Few days earlier, Rebello’s leg, a hand and mutilated private part were found in a suitcase in Mumbai's Mahim area.

It was later discovered that the victim was a guitarist and played music at local gigs.

On Saturday, December 7, Rebello’s 19-year-old adopted daughter and her 16-year-old boyfriend were arrested for murdering him with a knife and bamboo stick.

According to reports, the accused chopped his body into pieces and put them in three bags that they disposed into the Mithi river over three days after his death.

Two of such bags have been found so far after he was killed on November 27.

The first bag was found on n December 2. The floating suitcase was spotted with part of a leg sticking out of it at Mahim beach. A hand, part of a leg and mutilated private parts were found in the bag.

Upon finding it, a receipt led to Rebello’s name and police searched for it on Facebook.

A picture on the social media platform of Rebello wearing the same sweater confirmed that it was him, the police reportedly said.

Upon investigation, the police found that he had not been seen for 10 days.

Mumbai Police soon learnt that Rebello had adopted Riya who had a boyfriend.

Riya and her boyfriend alleged that Rebello had sexually assaulted her and opposed their relationship.

On Tuesday, the police recovered a suitcase from Mithi river, containing a limb and an arm of Rebello.
