Dubai: The Indian government has released photos and visuals of what they called missile strikes on "terrorist camps" in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

During a special media briefing, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said India had “exercised its right to respond” following the Pahalgam attacks.

“These actions were measured, non-escalatory, proportionate, and responsible. They focused on dismantling the terrorist infrastructure and disabling terrorists likely to be sent across to India,” he said.

Jointly addressing the briefing on ‘Operation Sindoor’ were two women officers of the Indian Armed Forces — Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sophia Qureshi.

Colonel Qureshi said the ‘Operation Sindoor’ took place between 1.05am and 1.30am on May 7.

She said the operation focused on facilities used as recruitment and training centres, as well as launch pads for terrorist handlers.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said : “It is a complex web of recruitment and indoctrination centres, training areas for initial and refresher courses, and launch pads for handlers. These camps are located both in Pakistan and in Pakistan [administered] Jammu and Kashmir.”

Colonel Qureshi said the selection of targets was based on credible intelligence inputs to “break the backbone” of terrorist activities.
“Locations were selected to avoid damage to civilian infrastructure and prevent the loss of any civilian lives,” Wing Commander Singh added. “This was done with due diligence.”
