A simple act of kindness by a woman in Minnesota has gone viral, highlighting the warmth of Indian hospitality. In a now-trending video, the woman surprises two construction workers by offering them a homemade South Indian snack — medu vada.
Dressed casually in a nighty and dupatta, she steps out of her house with two plates and hands them to the workers with a warm smile. Curious, the workers ask what the snack is, and she explains it's called media vada — a savoury treat that looks like a doughnut but is spicy, not sweet.
The workers excitedly try the dish with chutney. One exclaims, "This is fire!" as they enjoy the rich aroma and bold flavours. The video, now with nearly 600,000 likes on Instagram, has touched many viewers. Comments poured in, with users celebrating the gesture as a beautiful example of Indian culture. One remarked, "This is the beautiful culture of India. Atithi Devo Bhava – The guest is God."
