People in the Indian capital of Delhi are playing games across their balconies, to beat boredom, amid a lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus. A social media video showing people in a residential colony, playing a game called ‘tambola’ a version on Bingo from across their balconies and practicing social distancing, has gone viral on Twitter and tweeps are loving it.

India’s capital, Delhi, is under lockdown until March 31 and people are finding creative ways to entertain themselves while respecting the rules.

The video was shared by Indian billionaire businessman Anand Mahindra. It shows a woman, who was apparently hosting the game, announcing numbers through a loudspeaker system while the participants of the game played from their respective balconies.

According to an Indian newspaper, the video is from Delhi.

"I will never stop being amazed by the creativity of our people. In Italy, opera singers entertained their neighbours from their homes. But this is even more fun!" Mahindra wrote in the caption of his post.

So far, the video has garnered over 21,000 likes.

People in response shared clips of others who are making the most of their time while the world battles coronavirus.

User @Chetanniketa tweeted a video of how an elderly person's birthday was celebrated with people wishing her from a distance, to keep her safe from any chance of infection. The tweep wrote: "There were distances while celebrating grandma's birthday but the heart was close..."

According to earlier reports, older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk for more serious complications from COVID-19.
