Microsoft's Bill Gates confirms his 'serious' relationship with Paula Hurd

In a recent interview on NBC’s 'Today' show, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates spoke for the first time about his relationship with Paula Hurd.
“I’m lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula. We’re having fun, going to the Olympics, and enjoying great experiences together,” said the 69-year-old billionaire.
New Chapter with Paula Hurd
Hurd, a philanthropist and former wife of late Oracle CEO Mark Hurd, reportedly began her relationship with Gates in early 2023, two years after his divorce from Melinda French Gates. The couple was first seen together in 2022 and has since attended high-profile events, including Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s engagement party and the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony. In March 2024, they attended the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, Gujarat, alongside other high-profile guests.
His biggest regret: Divorce from Melinda
Reflecting on his past, Gates admitted in an interview with The Times that his divorce from Melinda after 27 years remains his biggest regret. He acknowledged mistakes, including an affair with a Microsoft employee, saying, “I certainly made mistakes, and I take responsibility.”
Moving forward
Gates described the divorce as a “miserable” period for both of them but added, “There is a certain wonderfulness to spending your entire adult life with one person.”
Despite his past regrets, he emphasized that he has moved forward: “Melinda’s doing well, and I’ve got a lot of work that I love to do. So I’m not really complaining about anything.”
