Israeli airstrikes left at least 29 Palestinians dead and dozens more wounded across the Gaza Strip, according to Gaza's civil defence agency.

A significant strike hit near the European Hospital in Khan Yunis, causing visible damage and a large crater. The Israeli military stated it targeted a Hamas "command and control centre" in the vicinity. Gaza authorities reported that 28 people were killed in the area surrounding the hospital alone.

In Jabalia, northern Gaza, at least 25 people were killed, with additional casualties reported from across the territory. The escalation follows a brief pause in airstrikes during the release of U.S.-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander on Monday.

Despite international calls for de-escalation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the military would soon enter Gaza "with full force," casting uncertainty over ongoing ceasefire efforts.
