Dead include soldiers, paramilitaries, 4 civilians including agriculture ministry official
Bissau: Eleven people including four civilians were killed during an abortive coup against Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo, government spokesman Fernando Vaz said Wednesday.
“The government mourns... the loss of 11 valiant men during the attack. Eleven victims — soldiers and paramilitaries, four civilians including a top agriculture ministry official and his driver,” said Vaz, who is also the West African country’s tourism minister.
