Abu Dhabi, Dubai: Weathermen on Saturday warned that fresh northeasterly to northwesterly winds could trigger up to six-foot waves off the UAE, while residents also reported blowing dust in certain inland areas.

A yellow alert is up on the Arabian Gulf off UAE shores on Saturday, while forecasters predict the clime will be chillier.

The lowest temperature recorded in the country was 15.2 °C in Jebel Jais.

Many UAE visitors and expats are already taking advantage of the cooler climes. Some social media users took to Instagram to share their outdoor adventures over the weekend

Instagram user @yannsousZip posted a video and wrote: "Longest zip line in the world - Mission accomplished..."

According to the National Center of Meteorology: ".... winds causing blowing dust and sand and poor visibility to less than 2000 meters at times."

In an earlier weather update on Twitter, @NCMS_media posted: "The sea will be moderate becoming rough... in the Arabian Gulf."
