Dubai: The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai continues broadcasting its religious lecture series remotely during Ramadan, in line with social distancing to contain the Covid-19 spread.

The lecture was titled ‘The permissible excuses for breaking the fast in Ramadan’ delivered by Khalid Ismail, a preacher in IACAD on YouTube channel @iacaddubai, which broadcasts his lectures after Tarawih prayer at 9.30pm for 25 to 30 minutes.

The lecturer pointed out that “Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship”, as mentioned in the Quran. Ismail said Allah prescribed fasting and eased the rulings for those who are vulnerable. Allah Almighty authorised them to break their fast and have special rulings, and this is from the mercy of Allah Almighty, he added.

Ismail said those who are excused from fasting in Ramadan are divided into multiple categories, adding that the person diagnosed with coronavirus must follow the doctor’s orders regarding the ruling on fasting or not.

He ended his lecture by calling on Allah to lift the epidemic from the country and its people.
