Dubai: Residents at Expo City Dubai will be able to get their food delivered by robots at their doorsteps.

In a futuristic leap for urban mobility and sustainability, Robot.com has launched a fleet of autonomous food delivery robots in Expo City Dubai, turning innovation into daily convenience.

While Dubai Silicon Oasis was the first to experiment with robotic food delivery, Expo City now hosts the most integrated and advanced system yet. The fully electric robots, equipped with GPS, precision cameras, and AI-driven navigation, operate seamlessly within the Expo City ecosystem, an urban environment designed for forward-thinking living.

How the system works

Using the “Expo City Eats” app, customers can place orders which are then picked up and delivered by a robot. Once the food is ready, the robot autonomously makes its way to the restaurant, retrieves the order, and navigates the pedestrian-friendly cityscape to the recipient. Real-time tracking allows users to follow the robot’s journey, with food accessed securely via QR code or SMS link upon arrival.

This initiative is a practical embodiment of Dubai’s Autonomous Transportation Strategy, which aims to make 25% of all urban trips autonomous by 2030. Expo City’s smart ecosystem already features real-time traffic control, environmental monitoring, and energy-efficient design making it an ideal testing ground for cutting-edge mobility solutions like this.

A step toward Net Zero

Every robot in this fleet runs solely on electricity, emitting zero carbon and replacing short-distance deliveries traditionally handled by cars, scooters, and motorbikes. By targeting the “last mile”, Robot.com is helping support the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 goal.

Beyond emissions, the benefits include reduced traffic congestion and increased public safety. These robots use pedestrian walkways and green corridors, avoiding roadways altogether and eliminating the noise pollution associated with traditional delivery vehicles. The result is a quieter, cleaner, and more pleasant urban environment.
