Drugs Pricing and Registration Higher Committee approves 97 supplementary medicines
Drugs for treatment of liver disease and diabetes met strict pharmaceutical requirements
DUBAI– The Ministry of Health’s Drugs Pricing and Registration Higher Committee has approved 97 new supplementary medicines in a meeting it held in Dubai today.
Dr Ameen Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing and Chairman of the Committee,
said the committee approved the drugs, which have met strict pharmaceutical requirements, and were for treatment of liver disease and diabetes. They include painkillers and nutritional additives.
He noted that the committee, since October 2015, had introduced a new system for assessment of health risks of new medicines
based on a combination of factors, including formula, usage, manufacturer and targeted patient groups.
