Dubai: The General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments and Zakat has designated seven mosques across the UAE as “Al Nakhwah” (Chivalry) in honor of January 17, a date UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan described as “a day to remember the strength, resilience, and solidarity of the Emirati people.”

Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the Authority, stated that this designation reflects the UAE’s dedication to preserving virtuous national values.

“We aim to inspire future generations to uphold the spirit of sacrifice, safeguard the nation’s achievements, and remain steadfast against any threats,” he said.

Al Darei emphasised the critical role of mosques in fostering social cohesion, noting that naming them “Al Nakhwah” underscores the importance of patriotism and unity in the UAE’s religious and cultural life.

He further described January 17 as a date that commemorates the UAE’s stand against terrorism and aggression, highlighting the enduring leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
