Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 963 prisoners from correctional and punitive establishments across the UAE, ahead of the Eid Al Adha celebrations.
The pardoned individuals had been serving jail terms for various offences. In a further humanitarian gesture, Sheikh Mohamed also pledged to settle the financial obligations of the released prisoners.
This initiative reflects the President’s commitment to offering the pardoned individuals a chance to begin a new chapter in their lives, strengthen family ties, and reinforce the values of compassion, forgiveness, and social cohesion within Emirati society.
