Trump received the honour as part of a state visit to the UAE
Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conferred the UAE’s highest civilian honour, the Order of Zayed, on US President Donald Trump during an official ceremony held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
The award, named after the UAE’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, is reserved for heads of state and distinguished global figures in recognition of their efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties with the Emirates. President Trump received the honour as part of a state visit to the UAE.
During the meeting, both leaders underscored the importance of the strategic partnership between their countries. President Trump praised Sheikh Mohamed, describing him as “a truly great warrior,” and highlighted the strong friendship shared by the two nations.
Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to collaborating with the United States on initiatives aimed at promoting regional peace and stability.
Sheikh Mohamed noted that the American president’s visit would significantly contribute to enhancing bilateral relations. He emphasised the strong partnership between the UAE and the US, noting that Washington is a strategic partner in numerous joint projects.
For his part, President Trump expressed optimism about the future of UAE-US ties, stating that the relationship would continue to grow stronger and more prosperous.
During the official talks, he emphasised that the United States deeply values the trust placed in it by the UAE.
