Abu Dhabi: Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, has received five awards given to the Department of Education in Human Resource Management in the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police.
The awards were the Khalifa Award for Education in the field of Education and Community Service, the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum award for Distinguished Academic Performance in the category of Supporting Institutions for Education, the American Society for Training and Development, Overseas Scholarship Supervision Category, and two business awards: the International Stevie Award for Best Executive Leadership in the Management of Human Resources, Golden Category, and the International Stevie Award for Information and Communication Technology in the Middle East in the category of Educational Applications.
Attending the awards were Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’afar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; Major General Nasser Lakhraibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister; Major General Mohammad Bin Al Awadi Al Menhali, Director-General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police; and Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Daheri, Director-General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police along with a number of senior officials.
Shaikh Saif was briefed by Lt Col Khalid Abdullah Al Khoury, Head of the Education Department, about the awards and their objectives, relevance and how to achieve them.
He congratulated the Department of Education on this achievement, stressing the importance of doubling efforts to provide the best educational services to police recruits in higher education institutions in the UAE and abroad.
Lt Col Al Khoury said that the senior leadership’s support and guidance of the Minister of the Interior have played a prominent role in the progress reached by the Education Department in Abu Dhabi Police enabling them to win the five awards.
He stressed the keenness of the leadership for the continuous improvement of police manpower in various scientific disciplines in the most prestigious educational institutions in accordance with requirements.
