Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued a federal decree appointing Dr. Ahmad Ali Mohammad Al Sayegh as Minister of State, the official agency WAM announced on Saturday.

Shaikh Khalifa also issued another decree appointing Dr. Ahmad Mubarak Ali Rashid Al Mazroui as Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Office at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.

Ahmad Ali Al Sayegh is a prominent businessman in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He is currently the chairman of Abu Dhabi Global Market and also serves as the managing director for Dolphin Energy and a board member of Etihad Airways.

Al Sayegh holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Lewis & Clark College, Oregon, USA. He started his career at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Corp. and would eventually become its finance director. In 2004, he founded Aldar Properties PJSC, where he served as chairman until April 2011.

He has also served in a number of other key capacities in Abu Dhabi: Board Member of the UAE Offsets Group (UAE), board member of the Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company, Deputy Chairman of First Gulf Bank (UAE), Member, Board of management Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (UAE), and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Ship Building (UAE).

He is also the Secretary General of the Executive Council and board member of the Emirates Foundation.

He has also served as the Board of Trustees of Abu Dhabi University.

Al Sayegh also served as the chairman of Masdar. He was a member of the supervisory board at LeasePlan.

Finally, he was named as one of "The Power 100" by Arabian Business.com in 2008. He was ranked #63.
