Italy PM Matteo Renzi arrives in UAE

Leader received at Al Ain International Airport by General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan

Al Ain: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received Italy's Prime Minister Matteo Renzi who arrived in the country on Thursday on an official visit.

The two discussed bilateral relations and best ways to develop them in the interest of the countries.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and touched upon joint cooperation between the UAE and Italy, enhancing trade exchange and cooperation in the area of energy, aviation, and the importance of coordination and cooperation in different areas.
 
During the meeting, Shaikh Mohammad pointed out that the UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on building bridges of cooperation and deepening the bonds of friendship to build an effective and balanced relations with all countries across the globe which are mutually beneficiary to all and in a manner which contributes in supporting global security and stability.

For his part, the Italian prime minister expressed his happiness to visit the UAE and meet Shaikh Mohammad.

He also praised the progress achieved in the country in all fields and commended the level of bilateral relations between the UAE and Italy and their joint cooperation on many regional and international issues.

The two sides expressed their condemnation of the terrorist attack which targeted civilians at the headquarters of the newspaper "Charlie Hebdo" in Paris and resulted in casualties and injuries.

Both parties agreed that these actions are contrary to all moral principles and human values. They also expressed their sincere condolences and sympathies to the French government and the families of the victims.

The meeting was also attended by Suhail Bin Mohammad Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, and other senior officials.
