Ideal Face 2: GDRFA Dubai launches the second edition of its initiative to promote values and positive behavior

Dubai: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) is launching the second edition of the “Ideal Face” initiative, continuing its efforts to foster positive behavior and reinforce Dubai’s image as a city where respect and humanity are deeply embedded in everyday life. Launched under the slogan “This is the Dubai We Want,” the initiative is inspired by the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum: “A salute to those who draw a smile or bring joy to a traveler or visitor… This is the Dubai we want.” It emphasizes the role of individuals — citizens, residents, and visitors— in reflecting the true face of the Dubai we take pride in.

“Ideal Face 2” embodies the UAE’s vision of making service a noble mission and human values a guiding principle. It reflects GDRFA Dubai’s approach to being closer to people and truly representing national values. This digital and on-ground community initiative showcases inspiring behavior that reflects “the Dubai we want,” encouraging GDRFA staff, airport personnel, travelers, digital audiences, and all residents and visitors of the emirate to embrace kindness, initiative, and respect—bringing leadership’s vision to life in daily interactions.

Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, stated: “The ‘Ideal Face’ is not just a title—it reflects the values we believe in. A simple act can leave a lasting impact, and every individual can be a true ambassador for Dubai in a sincere, human moment.”

The initiative will be activated through an interactive booth at Dubai International Airport (Terminal 3 – Departures), featuring a smart screen and camera to document human moments. Individuals demonstrating positive behavior will receive a thank-you card stamped with the phrase: "The Ideal Face – This is the Dubai We Want". A digital platform will complement this by sharing inspiring stories and collecting online pledges, supported by interactive content from the airport. The public is also invited to participate using the hashtag #YouAreTheIdealFace to share human-centered stories.

This edition builds on the remarkable success of the first phase of the initiative, which recorded over 10,000 pledges and recognized 30,000 positive behaviors, in addition to more than 61 million views and 243,000 digital interactions. The current edition has been expanded and aligned with the leadership’s vision of shaping “The Dubai We Want,” making it more present and impactful on the ground and within community awareness.

GDRFA Dubai invites all members of the community— especially travelers through Dubai International Airport—to engage with the initiative, whether online or by visiting the interactive booth at Terminal 3 from July 1 to 13, 2025, to share their pledges and document their human moments—because every positive moment deserves to be told.
