Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, on Saturday reviewed Dubai Municipality’s 2071 Housing Plan for Emiratis, which take into account the expected needs of plots during the next 50 years and the plan to rehabilitate old residential areas where Emiratis live.
The municipality’s 2071 housing plan comes in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to provide decent life for citizens and ensure the provision of suitable housing options that meet the growing needs of Emiratis and ensure their stability.
While meeting with Hussain Nasser Lootah, director-general of Dubai Municipality at Emirates Towers, Shaikh Hamdan reviewed the municipality’s housing plan to follow up on his directives issued during his visit last October to the municipality.
During his October visit, Shaikh Hamdan instructed municipality officials to chart out a comprehensive plan for housing citizens, which takes into accounts future needs. He also instructed the municipality to map out comprehensive plan to re-engineer and rehabilitate old neighbourhoods of citizens and coordinate with relevant entities to ensure the integration of all elements for achieving the desired goals.
Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, and Abdullah Mohammad Al Basti, secretary-general of the Dubai Executive Council, were present at the meeting.
