Abu Dhabi: Louvre Abu Dhabi is inviting community members to participate in a free-to-attend outdoor yoga session under the museum’s iconic dome.

The unique yoga event is being held in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi to celebrate the 11th International Day of Yoga on June 21.

“Connect with a community of like-minded individuals and experience the physical and mental benefits of yoga in a uniquely cultural setting,” the museum said in a statement.
“Yoga mats will be provided. Participants may also bring their own.”

Sheikh Nahyan chief guest at ADNEC event

Separately, the embassy will organise a grand event at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Held under the theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, the event will be led by global yoga experts.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, will be the chief guest, the embassy announced.

India’s former tennis star Sania Mirza will also be the guest of honour. Although this is a free-to-attend event, participants must register via the link provided in the embassy’s social media post.

All participants will be provided with yoga mats, IDY T-shirts, water, and refreshments on a first-come, first-served basis, the embassy noted.


Two yoga events in Abu Dhabi
ADNEC:
11 am to noon,
Entry: 9 am to 10:30 am.
Louvre Abu Dhabi: 6:45 pm to 7:45 pm,
Doors open: 6 pm.
