Dubai: Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) will launch its ‘Annual Can Collection Drive 2021’ on November 6.
Residents have been urged to register online for the drive and start collecting aluminium cans. They can then drop off the cans on the day of the event. The location will be specified a week prior to the start of the campaign.
Earlier this year, in the drive’s 25th cycle, the campaign managed to collect 2.57 tonnes of aluminium cans until the end of July, which is 12.9 per cent of the goal (20 tonnes) that EEG has set for the whole of this year. In 2020, EEG collected a total of 11.67 tonnes of aluminium cans for recycling.
“We need to come together to promote recycling for all, and uphold our responsibility towards the preservation of the environment. Recycling is the simplest way to conserve resources and the best platform to ensure that we close the loop and bring about a circular economy,” EEG said in a statement on Saturday.
