UAE traffic alert: Car catches fire on Dubai road, causes traffic jam
The incident occurred behind Mirdif City Centre.
Dubai: A car caught fire on Saturday evening along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (311), just past Mirdif City Centre. The incident led to a traffic slowdown on the busy stretch heading from Abu Dhabi to Sharjah.
Swift response from authorities
Eyewitnesses reported the vehicle billowing smoke before stopping on the right shoulder. Dubai Civil Defence quickly responded with several firefighters containing the blaze, while Civil Defence and Dubai Police patrols managed the scene and helped ease congestion.
The fire was fully extinguished within minutes, witnesses confirmed. However, as of now, Dubai Police have not released an official statement, and Google Maps continues to show traffic congestion in the area.
