Ras Al Khaimah: Search and Rescue team from the Ras Al Khaimah Police on Thursday rescued seven Asian trekkers, who lost their way in Wadi Sheha in Ras Al Khaimah. One of them reportedly fainted due to stree and fatigue was moved to a local hospital.
Major Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Saman, head of the Search and Rescue Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said that the police operations room received a report about the seven people stranded in Wadi Sheha.
Rescue team was immediately dispatched to the location to track down the lost trekkers. They were found stranded deep into a deep rugged mountain valley Wadi Sheha.
The injured person was transferred to one of the emirate’s hospitals to receive the necessary care, while rest of the people were reported in good and stable condition.
The Police have called on community members to avoid going to rugged areas in mountain and valleys for safety and security reasons. The police also advised trekkers to notify authorities concerned before embarking on any trekking expedition in the mountains and valleys.
