Safe return to classrooms: Abu Dhabi Police finalise back-to-school plan

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police have finalised preparations for the 2025–2026 academic year with a comprehensive plan, developed in collaboration with strategic partners, to ensure a safe return to classrooms and the highest levels of road safety for all. The initiative aligns with the force’s strategy to enhance security, public safety, and road protection.

Extending congratulations to teachers, administrators, students and families, the police wished everyone a successful and joyful start to the year, confirming that all departments are fully prepared to safeguard the community’s security and well-being.

Crime prevention and awareness

As part of its crime prevention strategy, the Criminal Security Sector has rolled out an awareness programme for students, teachers, parents, and school staff. It includes lectures on drug abuse, cybercrimes such as cyberbullying, online abuse and electronic blackmail, along with sessions to instil positive citizenship values, encourage ethical behaviour, and promote proactive security awareness.

Road safety measures

The Central Operations Sector, through the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, continues to expand traffic safety campaigns. These include awareness lectures for drivers, parents, students, and school bus operators, intensified patrols at intersections and major roads, and close monitoring of pedestrian crossings to ensure students’ safe movement from vehicles to school gates.

Comprehensive media campaign

The Security Media Department has launched a multilingual campaign across media and social platforms. It shares awareness messages and short films advising parents on protecting children from cybercrimes, urging drivers to slow down near schools, commit to safe driving, fully stop at school bus “Stop” signs, and cooperate with patrols to maintain smooth traffic flow.

Through this wide-ranging plan, Abu Dhabi Police reaffirm their commitment to a secure school environment, stronger community partnerships, and a safe start to the new academic year.
