The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to begin the registration process for re-evaluation and verification of marks for the 2025 Class 10 and 12 board examinations in the coming days. The application link will be made available on the official website — cbse.gov.in — once the portal goes live.

CBSE declared the Class 10 and 12 results on May 13, with Indian students in the UAE once again showcasing stellar academic performance. Following the announcement, the board has confirmed that students who are not satisfied with their results can apply for a range of post-result services, including:

  • Obtaining a scanned copy of their evaluated answer book

  • Verification of marks

  • Re-evaluation of specific answers

These services will be conducted entirely online and in accordance with a schedule to be announced in a separate official circular.

As per CBSE guidelines, students must first apply for a photocopy of their evaluated answer script to review the marking. After reviewing the scanned answer book, they can choose to proceed with either of the following options:

  • Verification of marks – to check for totaling errors or unmarked questions

  • Re-evaluation – to request a reassessment of specific answers by a different examiner

Students may choose to apply for either verification or re-evaluation — or both — but re-evaluation requests will only be accepted after they have obtained the scanned copy of their answer script. CBSE has stressed that this step-by-step process is designed to promote transparency and ensure accurate assessment.

The board has advised students to regularly check the official website for updates and to submit applications strictly within the prescribed timeline. A separate circular will be issued with detailed instructions and deadlines.

This revised system allows students greater clarity into their results by giving them access to evaluator comments and the marking scheme, thereby enhancing fairness and transparency in the evaluation process.

Here's everything students need to know:

Who can apply for re-evaluation and verification?

Students who are not satisfied with their CBSE 2025 results can apply for:

  • Photocopy (scanned copy) of the answer book

  • Verification of marks

  • Re-evaluation of answers

These services are available only online and must be accessed as per the official schedule. CBSE will issue a separate circular announcing exact dates and further instructions on cbse.gov.in.

Step-by-step process for rechecking

1. Obtain photocopy of answer book

  • Visit cbse.gov.in

  • Click on “Apply for Answer Book”

  • Login using your roll number and date of birth

  • Pay Rs500 per subject

  • A scanned copy of your answer book will be shared in your login account (evaluator details will be masked)

Note: This is a mandatory first step before applying for verification or re-evaluation.

2. Apply for verification of marks

  • After receiving the scanned copy, visit the CBSE portal

  • Click on “Apply for Verification”

  • Choose your class (10 or 12) and log in

  • Pay Rs500 per subject

  • Verification checks for totaling errors, unmarked questions, or marks not carried forward

  • Outcome will be shared on your login account

3. Apply for re-evaluation

  • Available only after receiving the scanned copy of the answer book

  • Visit cbse.gov.in

  • Click on “Apply for Re-evaluation”

  • Login and pay Rs100 per question

  • Re-evaluation is done by a different examiner

  • Final status will be updated in your login account

  • Only one application per question is allowed; no further appeal will be entertained

Key reminders for students:

  • Applications for verification must be submitted before re-evaluation requests.

  • The process is sequential: Answer Book → Verification → Re-evaluation.

  • Students should monitor cbse.gov.in closely to avoid missing deadlines.
