Woman held for stealing garments worth Dh461
The suspect also used an ID card belonging to someone else
DUBAI: A 34-year-old Malaysian woman was charged with theft and presenting someone else’s Emirates ID card to a Dubai Police officer.
According to court papers, F.D.R. stole items worth Dh461 from a retail store in The Dubai Mall and was caught by the security guard when trying to leave the shop.
She was taken to the police unit at the mall, where the on-duty officer, after checking her information on the system, realised that the Emirates ID card she carried belonged to another woman.
F.D.R admitted to carrying her friend’s Emirates ID, saying that her friend was not aware that she was using her card and posing as her.
The 34-year-old woman also admitted to stealing women’s clothing from the store.
The public prosecution has ordered the woman to remain in custody and transferred her case to the criminal court.
