Strategy to create more police jobs for nationals

Abu Dhabi: A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Abu Dhabi Police and the Abu Dhabi Emiratisation Council to provide more than 130 jobs to UAE job seekers.

The memorandum was signed on Monday in the presence of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior.

It was signed by Lieutenant Colonel Hussain Al Harithi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Police's Sa'ed Traffic Systems (Sa'ed) and Abdullah Al Darmaki, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Emiratisation Council.

Removing obstacles

Lt. Gen. Shaikh Saif said the agreement sets an example of cooperation between the public and private sectors to create job opportunities for unemployed UAE citizens.

It is evidence to the ability of removing obstacles, giving opportunities to Emirati citizens and enabling them to give a positive image of work and accomplishment, he said.

The agreement aims to supply the local market with the required national cadres, Shaikh Saif added.

Lt. Col. Al Harithi said the agreement comes in line with the promise made by Sa'ed when it was launched to pay more attention to the recruitment of national cadres.

He said the council is the appropriate body to carry out this task because it has a database on the number of UAE job seekers.
