Sharjah: Teenager found dead at family home

Sharjah: A 17-year-old Iraqi is believed to have committed suicide at his home in Al Buhaira on Friday morning.

Sources close to the victim told Gulf News on Monday that the Iraqi youth, identified as A.M.R.A., ended his life after his family discovered he had married an older woman without their knowledge. He chose to end his life since he did not want to divorce her.

However, a Sharjah Police official told Gulf News the victim’s family told police their son was anxious before his final exam and was scared and confused.

Sharjah Police have launched an investigation to establish the cause of death.
