Secretary who claimed she stripped to defer loan payment gets six months
Dubai: A secretary, who claimed she stripped to defer paying a loan has been jailed for having consensual sex, ruled a court on Tuesday.
The Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced the 42-year-old Filipina secretary, L.D., and the 52-year-old Indian marketing manager, S.J., who lent her Dh19,000, to six months in jail each.
They will be deported after serving their punishment.
Meanwhile, the 55-year-old Portuguese clothes dyer, J.G., was acquitted of having consensual sex with L.D.
Presiding Judge Saeed Salem Bin Sarm also acquitted S.J. and J.G. of threatening to post L.D.'s naked pictures on her door and to show them to her son and her friends due to uncorroborated evidence.
Testimony
The Indian has been referred to the Misdemeanour Court where he will be prosecuted for possessing 22 bottles of liquor.
L.D. denied having consensual sex with the men and claimed she was raped, which both the men had earlier denied.
The Filipina testified: "I borrowed Dh19,000 from S.J. and Dh5,000 from J.G. I agreed to return the loan along with 10 per cent interest later, but they took my son's passport as a guarantee. When they refused to return the passport, I agreed to strip and be pictured nude."
A Somali policeman claimed L.D. confessed that she slept with the two men who were arrested later.
The judge earlier allowed her to lodge a civil lawsuit against the men.
