International body to study Dubai Police rescue dogs

Dubai: The International Rescue Dogs Organisation will carry out an international study in Dubai to check the performance of rescue dogs under various weather conditions.

The UAE has been chosen for this examination for the abilities of Dubai Police regarding this field and also because Dubai Police's Police Dogs Department is well experienced after it participated in rescue operations in different weather conditions.

The study, which is being carried out by the organization based in Austria, is the first international study in the Middle East with the participation of 20 rescue dog trainers from European countries in addition to veterans.

The experts from Munich University have specified the locations where they will carry out the study and they will take samples from the participating dogs.

Dubai Police had joined the International Rescue Dogs Organization in November 2007.
