Umm Al Quwain: The Umm Al Quwain Police on Monday referred seven Emiratis suspected of forming two gangs and fighting using swords in Umm Al Quwain to the Public Prosecution to face legal action, a police official told Gulf News on Monday.

The suspects have confessed to their crime, the official added.

"They had used swords to solve old disputes between them," he said.

The Department of Criminal Investigation in Umm Al Quwain arrested the seven last Thursday on charges of using swords in one of Umm Al Quwain's new residential areas, the official said. He added the fight between the two groups was the latest in a series of clashes between men between 20 to 30 years of age.

Four of the suspects were badly injured and were admitted to a local hospital.
