Dubai: An electrician has denied that he premeditatedly attempted to murder his assistant, a court heard on Thursday.

Records said the assistant accused his boss of attacking him because he was disobedient.

"I am innocent & his claims are untrue and I didn't try to kill him," argued the 40-year-old Indian suspect when he defended himself before the Dubai Court of First Instance.

Records quoted the 28-year-old Indian assistant electrician saying in his testimony that "he attacked me because I didn't obey his orders as he is my boss at work."

The Public Prosecution charged the defendant, M.D., with intentionally attempting to kill his assistant, M.S.

According to the arraignment sheet, the suspect got involved in a heated argument with M.S. before he headed to the claimant's room and stabbed him three times in the right arm, stomach and waist.

The paramedics' swift intervention helped save the life of the victim.

Medical reports confirmed the stabbings were in parts of the body deemed "fatal spots".
