Dubai: People who cooperated with police by reporting suspected crimes have been honoured by Dubai Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Some 100 people from different social backgrounds were honoured for their cooperation, which helped solve some crimes and arrest criminals, while some of them reported begging and other illegal activities, said Brigadier Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, director of the CID.

Police still hope for more public cooperation and urge all residents not to hesitate in providing security support and reporting any crimes or suspicious behaviour, Brig Al Mansouri said.

"The ongoing awareness campaigns by the department in coordination with police stations has managed to change perceptions about security and police bodies and has encouraged cooperation with these bodies," he added.
