Dubai: An Emirati salesman was arrested on charges of dealing drugs, a senior Dubai Police official said yesterday.

Major-General Abdul Jalil Mahdi Mohammad Al Asmawi, head of the Department for Combating Narcotics at Dubai Police, said the young Emirati, J.A.E, was arrested for distributing Tramadol to teenagers at a shopping mall.

Al Asmawi said J.A.E,, who works as salesman in a furniture shop at a popular shopping centre in Dubai, was arrested with 699 pills of Tramadol hidden in his car.

He confessed to dealing drugs, which he said he had obtained from an Asian expatriate in a nearby emirate.
